Fighting for Our Lives: Pathways to Abortion Rights Globally
The state of abortion care in 12 INCLO member countries
Reproductive autonomy is a matter of health and equality – and is an essential component of democratic life. But securing abortion rights in lawbooks does not lead automatically to real or safe access to abortion care. Civil society continues to fight to expand such access despite stigma, discrimination, economic and geographic barriers, and religious objections.
Fighting for Our Lives: Pathways to Abortion Rights Globally is INCLO’s latest publication. It shares strategies from across the world’s regions for securing, enforcing and retaining abortion and brings together INCLO national human rights organizations and experts to examine how abortion rights have been advanced through legal reform, strategic litigation and sustained social mobilization. It also touches on the work that remains to ensure these rights are meaningful in people’s daily lives. It draws from experiences in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Hungary, India, Ireland, Kenya, Russia, South Africa and the United States.
