Climate change affects multiple Convention rights, including the right to life, to personal integrity, to private and family life and home, the prohibition of discrimination, right to a healthy environment, as well as other social, economic and cultural rights; specific aspects of States’ obligations to combat climate change engage freedoms of expression, peaceful assembly and association; these rights have to be interpreted with regard to future generations.

In reply to the request by Chile and Colombia regarding the legal issues raised by climate change, 10 INCLO members presented their advice to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Download the full amicus for more information.
